my distriutor was accidentally taken out without making any marks. whats the best way to install distributor correctly

Buy a haynes manuel. It will be invaluable to you and save you alot of time so you could already be work-en on your car instead of waiting for a answer on this forum.

do not buy a haynes.
go and download the FSM.
it has a picture of exactly what the rotor position is supposed to be when installed with the engine at TDC.

Advantage to the haynes, though, is you have it right there. If you have a laptop you can have in the shop with you, use the FSM [archived image: wink.png]

FSM is good for knowing what to do and the haynes/chiltons is good for knowing how to do it.
