That small black wire that connects to the square washer for the power supply wire has become disconnected. What's the best way to reattach it? I tried soldering it back on with some rosin core but the solder didn't adhere to the metal very well.

The wire is likely oxidized and the flux core is insufficient to break through it.

Strip the wire back and take a piece of fine grit sandpaper and run it on the individual

strands of the wire. blow it off, re twist it and try again with the solder.

worse comes to worse, just crimp the terminal.
