Alright, so I blew my power steering rack a year and a half ago during an event and I have another event coming up end of next month. I de-powered the rack and the steering felt.. a little better.. I am going to install the knuckles from mikeP soon, and I was wondering if its better to drift with another power rack or just keep this de-powered rack.
Im currently on 205 tires, and I know that some of you have no problems with wider and stickier tires than mine for autocross. This question probably has been answered before, but whoever has drifted with de-powered vs. powered, can you chime in?

Also I couldnt get much negative camber with my Stances, I might get kouki control arms to add more negative, but is there any other way to get more than -1.5 degrees? Im shooting for around -2.25 degrees. Would raising the height a little allow for more negative?

I have drifted in a car without an operational power steering system, and I don't recommend it. Well, if you value the functionality of your hands/fingers, that is. Transitions and line adjustments were scary. When that wheel starts to spin, you don't want your hands anywhere near it, haha.

drifting without power steering is stupid. fingers and arms will be beat up and protentially broken.

Mad Mike's Madbull RX7 runs a manual rack, and he does backwards entries. It all comes down to preference and practice.

…and tire size, wheel offset, caster and camber, leverage of the steering linkage, knuckle ratio, rack ratio, weight over the front axle, and the course layout.
You try to drive USAIR in a Z31 with no power steering, and you will be sitting in the pits wondering why you can't do very well. I want to upgrade to the kouki one.

Supposedly the pump is different in that it's driven by a ribbed belt instead of a v belt. Don't know about the rack
That link says that you can put a newer PS pump on an old motor, but not the other way around. I have an old style PS pump on my 88T motor (ribbed crank pulley) and it works fine....wut

Yeah ive decided to order a rack (..and take my de-powered as a core..). Ill stick with the zenki pump for now.
