I have a sqeeky drive shaft on my '87 turbo-which I think is a U joint on the drive shaft. I have a extra '86 non turbo drive shaft I could use- if it will fit OK. Will this exchange work OK? Both drive shafts are for 2 seaters.

No, the output shaft of the tranmission is different going from the non-turbo (71C) to the 87 turbo (30A). The companion shaft on the diff side also should be different going from an 86-87.
