Soon Im going to be having a welded diff in my 88 N/A Z. The axles on my car now have torn boots, with most the greese out of them. So Im looking into getting new axles. I can't decide between finding some used turbo axle's that will be stronger, but then requires me to find turbo commanion flanges, and a steeper price to pay over N/A's. I've been looking on rockauto, and there's some A-1 CARDONE reman, for $45 a picece after core. I feel the better option would be buying the reman, just like some thoughts, thanks.

You might google the aftermarket axels and see some of the complaints, expecially about vibration.

Ya vibration might annoy me, depending on how sever. However i'll be driving around on a welded, annoying as they are, they don't bother me. I just want something that can hold up to a welded for dd, and drift events.

The wheel bearing axle is the weak point, not the cv axle.

Are you planning to change out the axels yourself?…my z has the passenger side axel boots torn, i wanted to change axel myself but wanted to know how hard it would be and how long it would take me..

If it's your first time, it can be somewhat challenging. I like to unbolt the axle and then (with the spring removed) jack the arm up as high as needed and then pull the axle down and pop it out. Not too bad once you get the hang of it.
