I have an 84 50th AE and I replaced my dash with one from an 85 or 86 (can't remember, I've had it awhile). Everything connected fine. I noticed that my combination switches aren't working. When I turn on the lights only the left combination switch (headlight up/down, hazard, cruise control) illuminates and the other side doesn't. My headlights come on but do not raise up (on the down position). I checked the bulbs and relays. Is the wiring harness different from later than 84? I got rid of my old dash but kept the wiring harness. Should I pull the dash again and replace the harness or could it be something else.

Could be faulty connections. Check and clean all electrical connections. Also clean the combination switch. Dash harnesses should be the same for 85 as an 84.
