I'll be there. Tentative plan is to take the Z this year. Don't think I'll be doing another 10 miles on the Taneycomo again, so we shouldn't be hauling kayaks this time.

we are planning on making this our first branson z fest which is crazy being tha im from missouri and live in oklahoma my car has either been down (which it is currently) or i just couldnt make it. so with some luck $ and hard work we should be there this year.

I should be there this year again. Just gotta finalize the time off work.
Going to try and get the FS5 rebuilt in the Shiro, replace all the breaks/figure out where the fluid is going and a new alternator. That and I must clean the interior out again. Going to be a very busy next couple of months to get everything done and back together to make the 20hr drive [archived image: biggrin.png]

Last year I headed out here around 3AM Tuesday morning, and pulled into the hotel around 11ish on Tuesday night, it was around ~20 hours for me. I may end up leaving earlier this year. Not sure yet, but still hoping for the same time frame.

Yeah no kidding, it might be close to $1000 in fuel. Even more if I tow. Then again, it probably doesn't cost $1.20/litre for 91 octane for MOST of the trip. I was thinking of holding off until next year because Zoey's not really show-ready yet. This is the 10th anniversary, though. We'll see.

The hotel is not full. There are plenty of rooms available. Simply call (417) 334-1000 and reserve your rooms.

There are cars worth a lot more than yours sitting out there.
And yes the cops drive through regularly [archived image: smile.png], they have 3rd shift maintenance on staff, and hell some people dont go back into their rooms until 5am. I wouldnt leave your keys in the ignition with your hood popped, but your safe with just locking your doors and parking it in the lot. The lot is not within view of the streets.

As much as I agree with you guys, my car still has thousands of dollars of equipment in plain view and can tell you a z31 is not hard to break into.
Either way I was just interested as I know tx2kxx supra nationals has had some issues before. I'm not worried though.

I think everyone there has a certain level of respect for the cars and the owners, that this isn't really an issue. As the guys stated above, people hang out around the vehicles, and the hotel pretty much all day and night, practically almost always have sight on your vehicle anyways. And if anything were to happen, you'd have a lot of pissed off people to help back you up [archived image: biggrin.png]

I'm STILL waiting for my transmission to get built. I'm hoping it's done soon. I gotta get the motor back in and everything hooked up.. Judging by the time frame, I'll probably have to slap it back in and hope for the best that everything is working aright. I made a ton of random changes, additions and fixes this year. And I'm not going to have much time to test anything out/break in new parts and troubleshoot if anything goes wrong haha. Shall be good times in the up coming weeks…

I'm still toying with the idea of going. Calgary to Denver = 16 hours, Denver to Branson = 12 hours. Leave Wednesday morning, arrive in Branson Thursday afternoon. I just have to convince the powers that be to let me take the whole hitch off work because it's right in the middle of a nine-day stretch up north. Man. I REALLY want to go.

Haha, yeah. I have a complete 30A with the case removed too, pretty solid unit. The OD Bushing shattered on the guy when he was re-installing it, I've since sourced the part through a very long, and stressful day. I could have taken it off the spare 30A, but it would have required a full disassembly, and pressing out the shafts and such again. The cost of having him tear down another trans would be far more than a new part, even though 2x cross country overnight shipping does add up hah.

A lot of Branson still hasn't recovered from the tornado that hit two years ago. Another would be devastating.
In other news, Missouri is finally planning to redo much of the highway and main roads into, throughout, and out of Branson. Downside is it's a 4-6 year plan from what I've heard. Traffic already sucks there anyway.

They had some killer storms down in that area yesterday, hopefully all is well. I heard something while watching the OKC live news feed about Branson, the same storm that hit the Moore area moved into that area/Ozark, something with debris that was falling from the sky. But, who knows. There was so much going on with schools being hit and people trapped.
That whole area got hit pretty hard in the last couple of days.
I checked the weather for the week I am there, and it's supposed to be in the 30's (celcius) and "feels like" 40's (celcius), and sunny.. So, the car should be okay. Not too sure how well the car would fair with grapefruit sized hail hah

The car sits with a short block in the bay. I've got class at 4 (lol I'll probably skip it anyways). Any way to go from short block to complete running/firing long block in 5 hours? My first Branson trip and it was a blast. Had fun on the drive there, the event, being able to put faces to screen-names, meeting Mad Mike and the other Z fanatics. Definitely will be on the calendar for 2014.

We ended up having 17 Z31's out for the event, which is by far the most participation by Z31s in the history of the event. There were many more owners without cars who attended as well as cars whose owners registered in advance but were unable to attend (at least 8-10).

Definitely the most Z31s I've seen in one setting. Once again, Branson delivered. Got to meet new people and catch up with old. Plenty of beer and hookah was had. And then there was the tiger/zebra thing.
Oh yeah, and seeing/hearing a Ferrari California doing donuts was awesome. I missed out on driving it, but props to anyone who did get some time behind the wheel.

Gahhh. I can't wait to attend next year. I was actually thinking of heading down on the bike the night I got it but that would have been a long journey. On the positive side, I will be 21 next year and able to have a good time with everybody and meet you guys!

Sounds like he is good people. Has he been to BZF before? I don't recognize the name but if I seen him I might know. As for this year being the biggest year of z31s. I think 07' was the record year for that, 20somthing. I know that year I had 2 Z31s down there, my cousin Lonny who has the Blue 73 240z drove my white 85 and I had my red 86.

I know in turbo class Alex was first I was second and #68 of 75 Canadian shiro was third. I believe Cameron got second in the na class buts I don't the others names sorry guys.

Drag results? Hrm.. I dunno. I ran a 15.4 my best complete run on paper, but I think that was my first time down the track ever, so quite the learning curve, my last run, I was over a half second faster, till I nailed on the brakes before the quarter, then collided with the guard rail and still ran 16 seconds haha. I could have broken into the high 14's I'd imagine. My 60ft was even 2.2 on the wall hit run.. Alex was doing alright, but was having some mega traction issues
