    VG33ER Pistons

    I seen a lot of claims on the net and even on this site that the VG33ER pistons are factory forged. I am currently tearing down a VG33ER and have pulled the pistons out. They are CAST. Just figured I would put that out there to end any confusion.
    2007 Nissan 350Z Base: 13.476 @ 103.870 MPH

    1988 Nissan 300ZX Shiro Special New Setup 11.979@117.34 MPH

    Never seen that claim before. 100 % are cast.
    Usual Z31 suspect: Garage Queen (aka broken)

    Yeah never heard that pistons are forged.
    The rods are forged from factory though, very strong.

    I've seen it on a few sites. One guy when went so far as to say Nissan specifically told him they are forged. I just figured I'd share my findings in case anybody searched for it.
