Z31 Ignition Coil[edit]

The Z31 Ignition Coil is a high output ignition coil comparable to many performance coils. Replacing your Coil with an aftermarket coil will not increase any performance in your Z.

WARNING - Do this modification at your own risk. We Are not responsable for any issues of your own doing.

Testing the Ignition Coil[edit]

You can test your ignition coil by checking the resistance between the primary and secondary windings. Use a multimeter to measure the resistance across the terminals as shown below.

| Terminals | Expected Resistance | |---|---| | 1 – 2 | 1 Ω | | 1 – 3 | 10k Ω |

Note: If your coil readings are outside these ranges, the coil is internally bad and should be replaced.

Wiring the Ignition Coil[edit]

Please Refer to the chart below on how the ignition coil is wired

| Terminal | Function | |---|---| | Terminal 1 | Coil Ground | | Terminal 2 | Coil 12V+ | | Terminal 3 | Coil Output to Distributor |
