I was wondering if anyone had any tips on removing the flywheel gear ring because I'm about to go under my car to figure out how to do it. I have a 1986 300zx non turbo

To remove the flywheel your going to have to separate the trans & engine.

The link I posted, would that be the correct fit?

Dunkine: (2017-08-20 19:29:27)

The link isn't working for me. Do you have a manual trans? Why do you want to replace the flywheel?

Riotforce: (2017-08-20 22:03:34)

Yeah it's Manuel. When I replaced my starter one day, I seen how chipped the gears were inside the hole where the starter gets bolted into. That would be the flywheel right? Well my car doesn't want to turn on. it makes a whining noise down there when I try to so I figured it was the chipped gear I seen

Yep, flywheel. Could be missing teeth or starter drive gear isn't moving out to engage flywheel. You could pull the starter off and check it first.
