So I just bought an 87 z31na. First problem, its an na. Lol. Second problem it'll start just fine idle good but when it gets to operating temp it just dies. It doesn't stutter or shutter or anything. Acts as tho I'm turning it off with the key. It does this when idling or when the motor is under load or just keeping speed. When I try to start it again it simply just spins the motor. Doesn't even try to start. If I wait 10-15 min it will start right back up but 20-ish minutes later goes thru the hole process again. Any ideas?

When it stops working after the car gets up to temp(or if the car isn't starting period), take a glass of cold ice water and poor it on the Ignition control module. Then try to start the car back up. If it starts then you've got a bad ICM. If that's the case just upgrade it to the PRW-2 http://z31performance.com/showthread…ighlight=PRW-2

Wow awesome. I'll check that out right when I get home from work and post the results. Thank you for the info. I had a slight clue it was something along the ignition system but was totally unsure.

These usernames are confusing.

Ha. Definitely noticed that. Good stuff. Well got home and the car will start but immediately die. Whether in on the throttle a little or off.

So I also just read that the fuel pressure regulator could be the problem. The description is exactly the same as my problem. I'm gonna replace both the fuel pressure regulator and he ignition control module. One by one.

Well that sure seems to have fixed her. But time will tell. Thank you for the info
