How different are the are the turbo, manual transmission with emission controls wiring harness from year to year?

If you run the part code you will get a whole bunch of different part numbers according to year and model.

Does anyone know if the 87 GLL, turbo, MT wiring harness would work as a replacement to a 84 GLL, turbo, MT?

Yeah that too. If an 87 harness matches all the specifications of an 84 harness, are they interchangeable?
