From what I've read I understood VG30 blocks are all the same essentially. This is from a 91 I believe, maxima. The oil filter is in the way of the exhaust manifold. And it has this goofy design to it that puts in directly in its path. Anyone seen this before? And know of a way or some part to adapt a filter to come straight of the block?
Also looked at this and mentions nothing of it… http://z31.com/repairs/newengine.shtml

I don't need to go with a remount kit but I hope this isn't the only option

cant u transfer the threaded fitting to screw on the filter, from ur AE to the max? I believe you need a 22mm socket for the AE fitting and a standard screw driver and hammer for the max fitting

Exactly, just swap in your threaded one.
