Due to some issues that arose at work with scheduling that will prevent me from attending BZF, I decided to make the most of the situation by attending another event I love to go to!
The Classic Motorsports Speedfest at the Mitty is a classic car event held annually at the Road Atlanta race track in Braselton, Georgia. Since the inaugural event in 1978 it has grown to become one of the largest classic car events on the East Coast of the United States.
Every year classic sports car and racing enthusiasts gather in the hilly country near Atlanta, Georgia, to celebrate the full spectrum of historical and contemporary motorsports. Road Atlanta has been home to the Classic Motorsports Mitty since its inception in 1978, and there's no better place or time to enjoy a motorsports daydream. Join us April 27-29 for a long weekend of action both on and off the track. Even if you're not a competitor, you can get your car on this internationally famous racing circuit by participating in one of the weekend's parade laps.
Attendance should be in the 10,000-15,000 person range throughout the weekend, and this is simply an incredible experience.
Getting to watch HSR vintage racing cars blasting through one of the most scenic tracks in the country is something I imagine everyone on this forum would be in awe of.
Acadiana Sports Car Orphanage will be a vendor at the event, and we will forgoing the amenities of hotel living by camping on the infield in the evenings. I believe there is going to be at least 6-7 Z31P members who will be attending that I am aware of, and the Z Club of Georgia always has a spectacular turnout for this event as well.
We will be using a 20x10 tent on vendors row, and should have a special guest car making an appearance that should have plenty of installed ASCO goodies for people to look at.
It would be great to meet everyone, and to get to talk cars, see cars, and enjoy cars for a weekend!

Vending space was paid for and planned out today. We'll have a 30 foot by 10 foot covered booth/tent area near the Classic Motorsports Event Tent.
To those of you who will be helping me work the tent, I will need your shirt sizes for your Why Racecar?!! T-Shirt. Just shoot me a PM!

I'll have either a 6 man or a 2-3 man, I'll have to go through all my camping stuff to double check what I have. Or if the AE won't be running I'll have all the seats out of the suburban so I can put an inflatable mattress in the back of it.

Ok at the cost of not sounding to much like a newbie about the Mitty. I was wondering about some other info. from someone that has been there. I was thinking of coming down for Saturday depending on how much of my funds are depleated by Food Lion Auto Fair. Is there much of a swap meet daily? I know there are vendors for new products. When I go to the website it talks about the car shows and track events but was wondering about other stuff.

Not really too much of a swap meet, but I can guarantee you likely haven't been to a Historic Sportscar Racing event of the magnitude that the Mitty offers. The access to the pits alone is worth the trip!
