Has anyone seen this "300ZX" center light done as a mod , or am I looking at an aftermarket / fully custom part? I know I can't make the red part light up (or can I?) Because the reflector has black plastic injected behind it. ( Zenki)

I found this pic on CarDomain so that was no help.

Edit: wrong section, needs to be in upgrades.

Totally doable by disassembling (it can be carefully separated) and sanding off the silver backing on the letters and back-lighting with LED.

I did one many years ago using a cold cathode tube from a flatbed scanner, but never installed it on the car and used it as a bench light. Leds are a much better choice now,

I thought about doing this mod but was worried about cracking the reflector when separating it. I also wasn't sure where to get the aluminum backing to reflect the light.

Here is a procedure on how to do it.

Well turns out my search skills are terrible if it was on xenonz31! Thanks!
