Hey, newbie here. Iâve just purchased my first Z and my first car to work on (my daily will still be going to the mechanic for anything beyond basic maintenance lol). I am figuring most stuff out and I noticed that my charcoal canister is missing. Google searching indicates that it isnât necessary as long as you put vacuum caps on the lines coming from the intake manifold/throttle body and run the vent line into the frame. My problem is that I have no idea where the vent line is located. Does anyone have a picture or easy to follow explanation?

There is a fuel tank vent metal line that runs against the passenger side framerail and iirc ends just below the radiator overflow.
You are in luck as the factory service manual is available for free online: https://dev.z31library.com/xenonzcar_archive/z31/FSM/1986fsm.php
