In 1977 Datsun offered a Special Appearance Package on the 280Z called the "Z-Zap Z". It was Offered only in Bright Sunburst Yellow paint (paint code 411) with special decal package, rear window shade, racing mirrors and side stripe.
The Z-Zap Z also received "Top", "Side" and "Deck" stripes. Aprox. 1000 were produced.
The "Zap Z" model was also used as the pace car in the 1977 Long Beach Gran Prix.
