Are you planning to have a weekly roundup? If so 17's and 18's only… anything less by extraordinary circumstance only! [archived image: smile.png]

Re: DZ's "you should buy these wheels" thread.

I just post them as I see them. And I think a slammed zenki with aero could pull off 16's if they were the right ones.

i want either of these if anyone sees them forsale.

for the dished look (they look like 16s)

dont know the name of these wheels, i had a set on my fc they were perte wheels from japan but there are weds that look similar

i think these would look slick on my black zenki in a 17x8/9 f and 9/10 rear

work ryver touring

Agio TWM Ultra CCV

Could be an earlier version, it doesn't have the triangular indents just around the lugs

But aside form that, the design looks really awful for strength, the spokes are floating near the tub and so far away from the attachment point…

That dude is from MI. I saw his car when he had the TE's but never with the Biltz 03s.

Little steep considering I already have 3 sets of wheels for the car, but they are worth the price he is asking for. Ill shoot him PM, whats the worse that could happen. Now find me some Model 5s, and Regamasters

the only posted info on the wheels was when he first got them.

18x10 +32 in the front and 18x12+38 in the rear. He used 20mm f and 27mm r spacers to get this look. but the lips are bigger now on the fronts for sure…

Re: DZ's "you should buy these wheels" thread.

aside from being light and expensive, regamaster evo's are pretty bland.

much nicer wheels if you're trying to get something that looks as much as they cost.

rega evos are not one of those wheels. wouldn't spend money on them unless track wheel.

and then you'd be called an idiot for using a legit racing wheel for racing because they're expensive.

i like how you didn't delete the personal "step your game up" attack from one of your friends that had nothing to do with the post it followed. does that mean everyone who runs stock wheels can't comment until they "step their game up"?.

you should be a "moderator" and moderate everyone, you dike.

cliffs: moderator mike playing favorites.

but anyways, wheels FS thread right. since others are contributing:

17X9 - 5x4.5 - lip: 1.04 INCHES - offset 24mm - chrome $179 - silver $130

17X10 - 5x4.5 - lip: 3.16 INCHES! - offset 20mm - chrome $189 - silver $143

and similar to the bland regamasters, but not quite (my opinion). comes with a lip, and is 20 bucks cheaper per wheel than the previously listed, but also not light at all (main benefit of regamasters, i guess):

based on looks, i like the regamasters thin spoke when looked at it from the side, but i like the sc replica lip. i also like the center bore on the regamasters on the right car. on some cars/colors for some reason it looks like it's missing a center cap.

Re: DZ's "you should buy these wheels" thread.

I'm a bit of a brand wheel freak so here are some of my favorites (for our cars) that I envision on a daily basis and then cry cuz I'm broke.

1. Rotiform nue and blq ( or anything by rotiform for that matter )

2. Work carving head 40s

3. Work eurolines ( a bit over played where I live )

4. AME shallens

5. VIP modular vx-s110

MSR's are a knockoff brand like XXR, Rota or Varrstoen. Great for getting wide on a budget, but should not be compared with legit wheels.

Careless: (2013-02-21 06:15:21)

{{#if:| wrote:|Quote:}}

Not to mention the fact that they're un-original and boring for the most part.

How many times can someone get excited about the same wheel coming from a different brand, built in (most likely) the same country.

G-E: (2013-02-21 06:44:12)

Less chance of getting swiped, likewise less tears if you curb one… another option is painting those "legit wheels" fugly colours

The starion SHP wheels can fetch a pretty good price. I wouldn't say that set posted is an outrageous price at $500 because you're getting the semi-rare 16x9 +0 from the starion SHP set and then you're getting the rear 16x8 -10 from the regular starion set (instead of the 16x8 +18 front from the SHP set).

Just depends what you are looking for.

actually considering he has polished outer and inner lips, powdercoated faces, arp hardware, and they come with tires, I can say if you were to purchase all that new you would be more so around the $8k range for all of it. {{#if:| wrote:|Quote:}}

Should "fit" fine, but they'll be pretty aggressive. Fronts should look sweet IMO. And they're 17's, so you're going to have to drop the car to the ground to fit them up nice.

They have slightly more (about 3mm) exposure than an 11 et0, for reference.

frostvectron: (2013-05-23 21:57:29)

{{#if:| wrote:|Quote:}}

On stock fenders they're gonna poke*. Not sure how far you can roll/pull… DZ would probably know better than i would.

  • Though I guess it depends on tire size and also how much camber you're running.

BSRJIRONMAN: (2013-05-23 22:09:05)

{{#if:| wrote:|Quote:}}

I've run 17x9.5 et0 on my fronts. With that, they still have another 10mm before being "flush". No poke.

DeleriousZ: (2013-05-23 22:23:55)

I'm running 18x9.5 et -13 (not +13) on the fronts. I've got them pulled a ways though. The fronts pull SUper easy tho. My front track is actually wider than my rear track.

frostvectron: (2013-05-23 23:08:33)

{{#if:| wrote:|Quote:}}

Hmm interesting. 16x8 -10 seems to be flush for mine.

adamvann3: (2013-05-24 01:10:09)

18x9.5-25 on the front, suck it DZ. 10-4 on the pull though, its not for the meek. Front track width is wider myself as well.

Rears:

17x9-28 will put the wheel from hub out 142mm

I run a 18x11+6 which puts it at 134mm

Now the rear of kouki is 10mm wider than a Chouki IIRC? Should put you around the same. With this being said, its a super aggressive setup with tons of suspension work. I wouldnt recommend it if you're going at it half hearted.

Z-31Turbo: (2013-05-24 01:58:30)

God I am so averse to actually spending my money. However, I will be needing some new wheels as I get to work fixing up my Z so I'll be checking this thread more often…Those posted above seem like a good fit but the timing just isn't right.

If you're gonna upgrade wheels, I wouldn't go any less than a 9" width with an offset of +15 or lower (especially if you run coilovers) .Unless you plan to use wheel spacers.

If you go with staggered widths, be careful. Most sets of xxr/rota/other-random-cheaper-brands look dumb in the narrower widths.

But with legit wheels, work/volk/bbs, etc, you can create an awesome set of staggered wheels.

There are tons of excellent choices in this thread!

Time has come

Ray's Gram Lights 57d

Fronts: 17x9+12 PCD 114.3 with Nitto NT05 235/40

Rears: 18x9.5+12 PCD 114.3 with Falken Azenis 615k 245/40

I would rate them 9/10. There are no curb marks or anything on the faces. One of the 17s and one of the 18s has scratches on the center bore from balancing. Other wise they are mint. Tires only have 1000mi of street use on them. Conservatively 80% tread remaining even across the entire tire. The original blue valve stems are installed and come with the original blue gram lights stickers non applied.

Price: $1800 w/tires OBO

With adjustable suspension any setup is plausible. I wanted the 9 wides in fronts because that seems to be the ideal fitment with numerous width of tires in a z31. I have full range of everything with my setup, no rubbing, no alignment issues and still maintain a low stance. I wanted wider 18s in the rear to fill the wheel arch and maintain the natural rake the z31s have while keeping zero wheel gap.

I loved this setup but wanted a fresher look. With the 18x9.5s I have now in the front I needed to pull my fenders, run more camber and narrower tires to maintain full functionality. Compromises the previous setup didnt need.

Overall the gram lights look awesome and those sizes are pretty z31 conservative in what can be ran. Win win for any prospective buyer. The have over $700 of tires on them.

The GT-R rims were thrown in for funsies… 3.2k? LoooL Why not9t the ARs? Legit racing wheels; says so in the brand name. I found 17x10.5 +27 set of Cobra Rs but 3 sites said they were between 29-32lbs. Way too heavy IMO. Was also thinking about Weld S71 in high pad 17x10.5. Not sure about $2k price or how they compare to others. Most other lightweight quality wheels are 18s.

G-E: (2013-10-20 20:17:39)

Well hardparking arguments aside, I think the main objective of the selection here is what would look/fit nicely on a Z… just because it fits, like a 17x6 rim or 14x10, doesn't mean it should be here

This thread is form over function, you know no one is going to go drifting (aka offroading) with ordens or kranzes, likewise a good looking heavy $400 set of cobra's are a good deal

DZ naturally wants everything to be 10" (isn't that what she said?) and herrafrush, but even so, no crap in here please :P

I have been really digging the Wed Kranze Bazreia lately. Not sure if they really provide anything more than the LXZ's but toying with the idea.

[archived image: wheel_l_kranze_bazreia_6.jpg]

What I really need to do is get some new side skirts and re-work some of the rear suspension and fenders to even the car out a bit (currently running 1" of the natural rake). Would be really cool to run 18/19 stagger, but I dont think any areo available would be aggressive enough.

{{#if:| wrote:|Quote:}}

Yeah, I really like the machine/brushed finished faces with the polished lip. Awesome contrast. The polished finished faces are just too much.

My rear coilovers are bottomed out with a tad bit of sag using a helper spring (half way compressed with no load) since tossing on the LXZs this past spring. I drop off type dips, like the bad ones after bridges on interstate, the car does hit the rear bump stops. Only in extreme cases, so I dont want sag them anymore. I think a new damper will needed into the rear to get the extra inch I want. Thus far I have had no issues with the inner fender portion, but by guess that will need to be addressed if I go any lower. If I increase camber to -3.5* and add a slight pull I think I can fit 12" and a full 1" to the rear lip from my current state. Not that the current state is a slouch, but I know it has more game in reserve if DZ or anyone else steps up their game [archived image: smile.png]

Not bad.

I have been really digging panasport g7 c5c2 lately. Almost to the point I want to find a set to build. Almost pulled the trigger on a set of C5C's but I could not handle the flat faces.

GET THEREEEEE.

Watanabe RS8 16x8 +26 in 5x114.3. If I weren't dead broke and already in possession of 6 of these guys, I would have bought them already.

This is tempting, as already own a very similar set. Would make a nice addition to the collection.

At some point I need to make the time to start refinishing wheels. Maybe when I reach retirement.

Keep your eyes out for a set of Panasport C5C2's in 17 or 18.

A Z31 member is the seller of that (saw it on the facebook Buy/Sell group). Won't clear Z32 brakes though.

Those are pretty unique. Decent offset for a z31 as well.

Still holding out of C5C2s… I need to make this happen

or JDS, whatever comes 1st

Yes. Watched them too long and put out an offer

Seller was super cool and packaged them up really well. Even included brand new wantanabe 90* valve stems.

They show some age but there are no bends or rash on the lips which is key. Faces need to be taken off and everything needs to be cleaned up, but that is easy enough. Just too good to pass up.

Congrats! Awesome buy. I wish my 16" RS8's were 8" all around. I got the 7/8 combo.

Also… C5C's for sale:

C5C's dont really do it for me. Not a fan of the flat face look.

C5C2's are what I am looking for. Spoke curves give it a bit more depth without going to over the top. A good inbetween Work Miesters vs C5Cs spoke design. Not to mention era correct [archived image: smile.png]

Not a bad gig. I am still trying to hold out for some C5C2s.

Just cleaned up the LXZs yesterday. I will probably toss them back on soon.
