ok i know most of you are going to say nissan parts only so let me start by saying i have hardly any money and need to do this on a budget. I have 2 vg30e one W & one A. the W i believe to have bad rings in cylinder 4 due to very low compression test. the A seems to be pooping main bearings. ultimately id like to find out good place to get most of all i need for total rebuild. not really looking for upgrades unless very close in price to stock. im running an NA2T on these as well.

Working on a budget, unfortunately, is my specialty.

Compression test only indicates there is a leak..somewhere. To be sure it's bad rings and not just a leaking valve, you need to do a leak-down test.

Harbor Freight has a tester that does the job good enough. Do this before you tear up the bottom end to replace rings, you might

just need a valve job on that motor.

You can get most of the gaskets you need from one of those ebay kits (just search VG30ET gasket set on Ebay).

However, don't use the headgaskets they are reputed to be junk, get those separately (Victor Reinz 5758..18 bucks ea from Rockauto)

For a RTV gasket seal, Permatex Super Black.

About the only Nissan only thing that i really use anymore (excluding oem only parts like EGR tubes) is the distributor cap and rotor.
