I noticed today while replacing the TPS on my 86 NA I noticed that the wiring harness is for an Auto transmission. The TPS plug has 3 wires and I have the extra plug for the kickdown switch on an auto TPS. Does anyone have any experience in this and know if I can just remove the third TPS wire?

You don't need to have the extra plug on manual trans cars just the TPS connector.

Yeah I wasn't super clear the third wire going into the tps itself is there when the manual wiring harness only has 2 wires going to the TPS. I replaced my TPS after getting the ecu code for it but I still idle jumpy and didn't know if the auto transmission wiring harness would cause that too.
