{{ForumImport |op_user=klooz |op_date=2015-12-23 01:39:43 |post_count=6 |archive_url=/Z31performance_archive/forum/z31-repairs-forums/engine-mechanical/25506-car-wont-start-after-short-fire.html }} '''klooz:''' (2015-12-23 01:39:43) I had a fire in my car a while back because of a wire that i didnt put through a grommet it shorted out and blew my main fuse link for my battery. So my car wouldnt start so i got a brand new fuse link from courtesy parts. I put it in and still nothing. I have fixed all the visible damage done by the fire there were no visible burns on any of my other wiring. I have checked everything. I have fuel but no spark. Also, right before this happened i had just put a brand new rotor and cap on. It was the test drive after the cap. I can put pictures if needed. ---- '''88sinZ:''' (2015-12-23 05:58:11) main harness damage, scrap it ---- '''FrozenZ:''' (2015-12-25 01:26:40) What he said. I'm pretty sure that people have pooched their ECUs with shorts too. I would try to find a known good ECU first because it's relatively easy to test, finding a known good 88 harness may be a bit of a trick. ---- '''klooz:''' (2016-01-04 00:35:32) there is no visible harness damage in my engine bay i have inspected everything. does anyone know if nistune can repair ecus when you send it to them for there software, ---- '''klooz:''' (2016-01-04 00:36:29) im going to go nistune anyway so i just need to know if i need to buy a working ecu or can i send them mine. ---- '''Trbulnt:''' (2016-01-05 01:16:28) Unless you ohm'd out every wire you start lol may have a broken wire or other shorted device. I wouldn't waste the money sending a suspected faulty ecu without contacting Nistune to ask them directly.
