I have trouble retracing where this little torsional spring is supposed to go to on the automatic climate control airbox.

A larger torsional spring is beneath the pivot arm for the lower duct door and is under compression between that pivot arm and the lip around the heater core opening (circled in red, below).

So where does the smaller spring go to?
