{{ForumImport |op_user=adroitcaptor |op_date=2014-02-04 00:17:43 |post_count=5 |archive_url=/Z31performance_archive/forum/z31-performance-upgrade-forums/cosmetic-interior-exterior/23293-body-door-trim-removal.html }} '''adroitcaptor:''' (2014-02-04 00:17:43) So is there a way too get this sticky/foam/silicone crap off or a better way to take the trim off? I tried dental floss, a paint scraper, and a body scraper thing after searching and the below is the result (not much difference). FWIW I could care less about the paint as I will eventually repaint it. I do care about the body. http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/j…203_150604.jpg ---- '''FlyingT:''' (2014-02-04 01:57:43) {{Quote|user=|}} Get 3M sticky tape adhesive remover. [http://www.3m.com/product/information/Scotch-Brite-Molding-Adhesive-Stripe-Removal-Disc.html http://www.3m.com/product/informatio…oval-Disc.html] ---- '''adroitcaptor:''' (2014-02-04 02:59:33) Will that take off that capt foam and the silicone? (The Black silicone strip in the middle, is on there like a white stripe on a skunk.) ---- '''Z_Karma:''' (2014-02-04 19:49:53) When i removed mine, i used goo-gone and a razorblade(s). Then i discovered the existence of this: [http://www.autogeek.net/3m-stripe-off-wheel-07498.html http://www.autogeek.net/3m-stripe-off-wheel-07498.html] and it worked beautifully, like a pencil eraser on steroids. I wish i had discovered it before i fucked up my clearcoat with the razorblades. ---- '''utjon:''' (2014-02-14 04:01:49) I used a heat gun to take the trim off but the remaining stuff was totally annoying. I should have done dental floss to get it off with the trim. It took eons with goo gone/wd40/etc. So i bought that wheel and it did all of jack for me. I bought plastic razor blades on amazon.. Best creation ever, no paint damage at all. Side question.. Anyone know how much shops charge to fill the holes on the 86?
