== Automatic Specifications == The Z31 was offered with two different Jatco Automatic Transmissions. They were both model E4N71B and featured and electronic lockup feature. These transmissions are based on the light duty model L4N71B transmission used in the Datsun 810. The E4N71B can provide lockup in all forward speeds by using a microprocessor to electronicaly control the lockup. The overdrive switch in the automatics has a temperature sensor that does not allow the transmission to shift into overdrive until it is sufficiently warmed up to avoid possible damage. [http://www.levelten.com Level 10] use to makes an upgrade kit that would allow your transmission to hold up to 500+ hp but it is no longer available. === Automatic Gear Ratios === | 4N71B | E4N71B | 1st Gear | 2.458 | 2.458 | 2nd Gear | 1.458 | 1.458 | 3rd Gear | 1.000 | 1.000 | 4th Gear | 0.686 | 0.686 | Reverse | 2.182 | 2.400 | === Automatic Transmission Fluids Levels === E4N71B | 4N71B | | | Fluid Type | Auto Trans DEXRON | Auto Trans DEXRON | | Capacity | 7-3/8 qt | 7-3/8 qt | === Specifications And Adjustments === |
