==== Rear Crossmember Mounts ====

One of the most common areas to rust is the mounts for the rear crossmember. To inspect this area, remove the seats and lift the carpet. Rust here can be expensive and time-consuming to repair.

Look for rust around the tire wells, especially along the front edge of the hood. Another problem area is the seams on the rocker panels under the doors — watch for rust bubbles forming under the paint.
